In anticipation of select John Carpenter films getting a snazzy 4K bluray re-issue this autumn, select cinemas will be screenings the movies themselves on October 26 and 31st. Following that, the films can be bought at retailers. THE FOG will receive its restoration premiere at The London Film Festival on October 15. From October 26, THEY LIVE and PRINCE OF DARKNESS will screen as a precursor to the big Halloween one-night special of THE FOG.
The reissues include: THE FOG, PRINCE OF DARKNESS, THEY LIVE and ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK, stone cold classics every one and now remastered and presented with new Matt Ferguson cover art and extra features. All four brand new 4k restorations were done using the original camera negatives, with the colour grading approved for the new restorations and UHD versions by the films’ Cinematographers: Gary B Kibbe and Dean Cundey.
