Empire Live film weekend in London to include a Trainspotting live script-read

Empire Magazine have announced new details about their upcoming Empire Live event in London, which will be a multi-day film celebration bash at the O2 in Greenwich over the 23-25 September weekend. In addition to a special preview of Louis Theroux's My Scientology Movie (reviewed here by Smoke Screen), a pre-release screening of Jim Hosking's cult hit horror-comedy hybrid The Greasy Strangler, and a look at an extended cut of Ridley Scott's The Martian (reviewed here), it has been announced that Danny Boyle's Trainspotting will get script read through live in front of an audience with a new, secret cast of leading stars and rising talent. This will mark the 20th anniversary of the original film's impactful release, and foreshadow the release of the long-heralded sequel due in September. Live script readthrough's are an increasingly popular form of film event these days, Tarantino having trailed the release of The Hateful 8 with several read-throughs of his own.

See Empire Live site for more details of the screenings, panels, Q&As planned.
