A screening of Wes Anderson's hugely acclaimed and incredibly whimsical hit from 2014, The Grand Budapest Hotel, put on by social enterprise pop-up Pop Ritzy in Brixton
Pop Ritzy will be our new pop-up sixth screen which will show a mixture of specially curated favourites, classics and crowd-pleasers, in the unique atmosphere of Pop Brixton, just around the corner on Brixton Station Road.
We're delighted to base this new screen in Pop Brixton, a vibrant social enterprise just round the corner from the station which hosts some of the area’s most creative independent start-ups across food, retail and the arts.
As huge Wes Anderson fans here at the Ritzy, we want to start 2016 with one of our favourite films of 2014. The grand, Grand Budapest!
The Grand Budapest Hotel recounts the adventures of Gustave H, a legendary concierge at a famous European hotel between the wars, and Zero Moustafa, the lobby boy who becomes his most trusted friend. The story involves the theft and recovery of a priceless Renaissance painting and the battle for an enormous family fortune -- all against the back-drop of a suddenly and dramatically changing Continent.
