Having already scored success with previous cinema screenings of previous episodes, the BBC is at it again with the forthcoming season premier of the eighth season of the rebooted Doctor Who. The season's opening episode, 'Deep Breath', has the unique factor of not only properly introducing new Doctor Peter Capaldi, but is directed by Ben Wheately of Sightseers and Kill List fame. Whovians not satisfied with simply watching the broadcast on TV or on iPlayer can supersize to a cinema screen, as Picturehouse cinemas across the capital and beyond will be simultaneously showing the episode, with cast and crew Q&As promised.

From the Picturehouse site:

We’re very excited to be screening the feature-length first episode of the new series of Doctor Who on the big screen at the same time as the BBC broadcast.

Following the screening, there will be an exclusive satellite Q&A with special guests live from Leicester Square, as well as ten minutes of behind-the-scenes footage from the episode.

The new series stars Peter Capaldi as the Twelfth Doctor and Jenna Coleman as Clara. Set in Victorian London, Episode 1: Deep Breath reunites the newly regenerated Doctor and returning companion Clara with series regulars and fan favourites Madame Vastra, Jenny and Strax.

The episode is directed by Ben Wheatley (SIGHTSEERS, A FIELD IN ENGLAND) and written by Steven Moffat (Sherlock, Jekyll).
