Frontline Club Preview Screening: One Rogue Reporter + debate (28 July 2014 7pm)

Monday 28 July 2014, 7:00 PM

Tickets and Details here.

This screening will be followed by a debate with director Rich Peppiatt (additional speakers TBC).

Hard to argue against this being quite essential viewing following the recent dramatic events in the News of the World phone hacking trials. The director himself, a former hack, has been in the thick of the events recently having given testimony in the Leveson  Enquiry into British press ethics and behaviour. This film, an a deputation of his Edinburgh fringe show, is his way of turning the satirical guns back on to his red-top employers.

From the Frontline Club:

"Since Rich Peppiatt’s hilariously withering resignation letter to Daily Star proprietor, Richard Desmond, became a viral sensation in 2011, his brutal honesty has made him a regular tabloid commentator on TV and radio. Peppiatthas appeared before the Leveson Inquiry and his searing testimonies have made headlines around the world.

With One Rogue ReporterPeppiatt delivers a mercilessly satirical dissection of his former trade. Turning the tables on unscrupulous newspaper bosses, he lampoons the hypocrisy and dishonesty of his former employers through a series of mischievous stunts and interviews with heavyweights from the worlds of journalism, film, comedy and politics.

Directed by Rich Peppiatt
